Wipro Partners with IISc to Drive Innovation in AI and Quantum Technologies

Wipro Ltd. has announced a strategic collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID) to advance research and innovation in frontier technologies. The partnership will focus on areas like agentic AI, embodied AI, quantum AI, and quantum-safe solutions, helping enterprises build secure, adaptive, and autonomous digital operations.
The alliance will establish a joint research program combining IISc’s faculty and scientists with Wipro’s engineers and technologists. Key focus areas include quantum computing, advanced AI models, secure digital infrastructure, and autonomous networks. The program aims to develop scalable models, new intellectual property, and industry-ready platforms for sectors including telecom, manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare.
Sandhya Arun, CTO, Wipro Ltd, said, “By combining IISc’s advanced research capabilities with Wipro’s applied innovation expertise, we aim to tackle complex challenges and create high-impact solutions for enterprises”. Rajesh Sundaresan, Dean of IISc’s Division of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Sciences, emphasized that industry-academia collaboration is key to translating research into real-world value.

The partnership will allow Wipro to integrate the research outcomes into its WINGS and WEGA platforms, enhancing sector-specific solutions and innovation offerings under Wipro Intelligence. For IISc, the collaboration will expand research capacity, provide industry validation, and offer opportunities for technology transfer and commercialization.
This initiative marks a significant step in bridging cutting-edge academic research with practical enterprise solutions, reinforcing India’s position in advanced AI and quantum technology innovation.
