  • Airtel Cloud users can now access IBM’s AI ready infrastructure.
  • The partnership targets regulated sectors like banking, healthcare, and government.
  • Two new Multizone Regions (MZRs) to be set up in Mumbai and Chennai for data security.

Bharti Airtel has announced a strategic partnership with IBM to boost cloud services through its newly launched Airtel Cloud platform. The collaboration aims to support growing demand from sectors like banking, healthcare, and government that need secure, AI ready cloud infrastructure.

With this partnership, Airtel Cloud customers will gain access to IBM’s advanced servers designed for AI applications and secure workloads. These services are especially crucial for industries dealing with sensitive data and strict compliance requirements.

The move comes at a time when India’s demand for cloud computing is soaring, driven by artificial intelligence adoption and data localisation laws. It also follows Google’s announcement of a $15 billion AI data centre investment in Andhra Pradesh, a project Airtel is jointly building in Visakhapatnam.

To further support enterprise customers, Airtel and IBM will set up two Multizone Regions (MZRs) in Mumbai and Chennai. These MZRs are designed to keep operations running smoothly even during disruptions by spreading infrastructure across different locations. This setup also helps businesses meet India’s data residency norms.

Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, said the partnership is part of Airtel’s broader strategy to empower Indian businesses with future ready tech infrastructure.

The service is being offered via Airtel’s digital arm Xtelify, which launched the Airtel Cloud in August 2025.
