Facing these challenges and offering heavy engineering and turnkey solutions across a range of sectors, specializing in waste-to-energy systems through advanced gasification technology is the Chanderpur Group. An ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, PESO, AS9100 REV D (2016). ASME ‘U’ and ‘R’ Stamp Certified organization, Chanderpur Group leads the domain of waste-to-energy solutions in India, and excels in solutions for the cement, fertilizer, mineral processing, lime, petrochemicals, flue gas desulfurization, paper, and material handling equipment.
Journey towards Excellence
Starting its journey in 1962 with the foundation of Chanderpur Works by Sumesh Chandra, which manufactured machinery for the sugar industry, the company grew into a group with eventual establishments including machinery for paper in 1970, cement in 1980, fertilizer and mineral industries in 1990, and gasification technology in 2004. Throughout its journey, the firm also forged strategic partnerships with prominent European companies including Christian Pfeiffer GmbH (Germany), Intravis S.R.O. (Slovakia), S.I.G.
(Italy), and CemProTec GmbH (Germany), which strengthened the Group’s ability to deliver world-class plants and machinery, catering to a global clientele.
“With a legacy of over sixty years, we have introduced several innovations like dry discharge and dry clean gasification system, which eliminates the water effluent. In Gasification,we started manufacturing downdraft gasifiers for woody biomass. We also introduced gasifiers for rice husk and other loose biomass, gasifiers for RDF and updraft gasifiers for coal. For the gas cleaning system, we also introduced wet ESP. We also successfully implemented a 1 MW grid-based waste-to-energy project with support from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)”,shares Sudhir Chandra, Managing Director, Chanderpur Group.
Boasting an advanced facility comprising modern CNC machines including VTLs, borers, plano millers, VMC, drilling, advanced machines like robotic welding, coordinate measuring machine, and 3D printing, and other machines like gear hobbing, facing lathes, and plate rolling machines (up to 120 mm), Chanderpur Group’s manufacturing units are spread across a sprawling 2,50,000 Sq.ft and feature a lifting capacity of 200 tons, and lifting height of 12 mtrs under the crane.
Alongside its exceptional infrastructure, the company’s dedicated team of seasoned professionals bring diversified expertise in domains like mechanical engineering, electrical and instrumentation, marketing, finance, waste management, and environmental science. The combination of skills and knowledge enables the firm to continually drive innovation and operational excellence, delivering high-quality solutions every time.
Future Growth through Sustainability
Committed to environmental sustainability, the Chanderpur Group utilizes advanced gasification technologies that help in optimizing energy recovery from refuse-derived fuel(RDF) and maximizing energy output while minimizing emissions. These solutions offered by the firm comply with the highest environmental standards and contribute to cleaner air, and support initiatives for minimizing landfill waste.
Aligned with this commitment, the firm’s future roadmap focuses on advancing its RDF-based gasification systems, including RDF as well as industrial waste. The firm aims to build a plant in strategic locations such as islands which currently do not get electricity or which get electricity generated by diesel generators. In addition to this, the company is also working to produce hydrogen from syngas, which will be another innovation putting the company a step ahead.
