• New long-term (D visa) services to open in six major Indian cities.

The Embassy of Bulgaria in New Delhi, in collaboration with VFS Global, has launched long-term visa (D visa) services across India, making the application process easier and more accessible for Indian citizens. The initiative will allow applicants to submit their documents at modern visa application centres in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi, removing the need to visit the embassy in person.

Starting November 1, 2025, long-term visa applications will be accepted at the New Delhi centre, while other centres will open for appointments by mid-November. Applicants can book appointments online .

H.E. Dr. Nikolay Yankov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to India, said the move would strengthen people-to-people and business ties between the two countries and make travel for education, employment, and family purposes simpler for Indians.

Ms. Yummi Talwar, Chief Operating Officer, South Asia at VFS Global, said the partnership, which began in 2008, has been built on trust and service excellence. Extending the services to long-term visas will further improve convenience for applicants nationwide.

VFS Global will also offer additional services such as Visa At Your Doorstep, Premium Lounge, and courier facilities, though these do not affect processing times or visa outcomes.

VFS Global currently manages Bulgaria’s visa operations across 31 countries with 116 centres, providing front-end support while the final visa decisions remain with the Embassy of Bulgaria.
