
Airtel Business Secures Cybersecurity Deal with Indian Railways

- Airtel Business wins multi-year cybersecurity contract from Indian Railways

Bharti Airtel’s enterprise arm, Airtel Business, has secured a significant multi-year contract to provide end-to-end cybersecurity services for Indian Railways’ vast digital infrastructure. The deal highlights Airtel’s growing role in protecting critical national assets amid rising cyber threats.
Indian Railways operates over 13,000 trains daily, serving 20 million passengers and handling millions of digital transactions related to ticketing, freight, and more. To safeguard this complex system, Airtel Business will deploy a centralized, AI powered cybersecurity framework. This system will protect sensitive data and critical operations across 26 railway zones, covering around 160,000 employees.
Airtel Business will use a combination of global best practices and advanced 'Make in India' cybersecurity solutions to create a secure, compliant ecosystem tailored for India’s rail network. This move aligns with the government’s goal to strengthen cybersecurity in strategic sectors.

Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of the Railway Board, added, “As our reliance on digital systems grows, cybersecurity becomes crucial. The IRSOC will provide centralized monitoring and rapid threat response to keep Indian Railways secure”.
Bharti Airtel recently reported a 103% rise in net profit to Rs 5,948 crore for Q1 FY26, driven by strong growth in India and Africa. Airtel shares rose 0.15% on the BSE to Rs 1,898.50.
