Home remedies became a recourse for all during pandemic lockdowns. While we remained indoors to keep the virus at bay, most of us recollected those traditional mixes our grandmothers advocated. Interestingly we all know where to find the right ingredients our kitchens. Dry skin is a common concern during winter. When the air gets cold and dry, water content swiftly evaporates from our body, making skin feel tight and flaky. Here are some home remedies you can count on to retain moisture and combat dry skin concerns.

1.Coconut Oil Treatment for Dry Skin:Coconut oil can quench the thirst of your skin. Apply coconut oil two-three times a week. You can use castor or olive oil alternatives. Yet, coconut oil is ideal for all skin types. Make sure oil remains on your skin for at least one hour before showering for best results. Your skin becomes smooth and soft. Retains moisture throughout the day intact. You can check the dryness of skin by nail scratch. If the area becomes white, your skin is dry. Otherwise, it's moisturized, and your skin is not thirsty.

2.DIY Egg Yolk Face Mask Recipe:Egg yolk is rich in Vitamin A that heals dry, flaky, itchy skin this DIY face pack leverages it. Take an egg, break, and pour the contents into a bowl. Carefully take out the yellow from the white fluid without leaking it. Add one tbsp honey and one teaspoon of milk powder to egg yolk. Your egg yolk face pack is ready. Mix the ingredients thoroughly and apply the paste uniformly on your face leaving eyes & lips. After 20 minutes, wash with water.

3.DIY Banana Mask:Banana moisturizes and nourishes the skin with its vitamin C, B6, and A. The fruit also possesses anti aging properties and helps to smoothen out fine lines plus wrinkles.
How to Apply
•Mash the banana till no big lumps remain and add honey
•Apply this on your face and keep it on for 15-20 minutes
•Rinse with water

4.DIY Milk, Lemon & Almond Oil Face Pack for Dry Skin:Using milk, lemon, and almond oil face pack helps to fight skin darkening on the face, neck, or even hands during winter. For preparing this, mix one spoon lemon extract and one tbsp of milk powder. Then, add one tbsp of almond oil to the mixture and blend them into a thick paste. The cleansing property of lemon and moisturizing factor that comes with milk powder couples with the goodness of almond oil, making skin soft and shining.

5.Glycerine for Moisturizing:Glycerine is an inevitable ingredient in all moisturizing creams. The humectant and emollient properties of glycerine help to retain moisture of the skin, making it soft.

How to Apply
Step1: Wash your face and pat it dry. Leave it slightly damp.
Step2: Dip the cotton ball in the glycerin and apply it. Avoid coming in contact with eyes and lips.

For better results, after applying glycerine, dip the cotton with ice water or rose water and keep it all over the face for 30 to 45 minutes. It helps to retain the moisture. Leave the glycerin on. Do not wash it off.

6.DIY Papaya, Banana & Honey Facemask:Papayas are rich in antioxidants, and bananas are known for their vitamin contents. Together these two fruits can work as anti aging agents. Also, honey is a natural moisturizer for all skin types. Bringing them all to a unique DIY face pack rejuvenates your skin, making it firmer and youthful. Mash the papaya and banana till no lumps remain. Then, add 2tbsp honey and blend well into a paste. The face pack is ready! Apply the pack on your face and other dry areas on your body. Leave it for 30 to 45 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.
