India’s rapid urbanization and development initiatives spreading across tier-II and tier-III cities, are fueling the growth of the architecture and urban designing industries. Urban planning, which was, up until the last few years restricted to tier-I cities, is now central to designing projects in growing cities, with a significant emphasis on shaping future-ready cities. Additionally, the impetus on sustainability is driving change within the industry, with clients demanding structures to be more environmentally conscious. However, not many experts are yet able to fulfill client demands for sustainability, cost effectiveness, and on-time completion of projects. Bridging this gap with comprehensive architecture, interior designing, and urban planning services is Trimit Architects.

The Nagpur-based group of dynamic and agile professionals with a track record of creating exceptional structures and spaces was inspired by the prominent 20th century architect and designer Le Corbusier’s quote, 'You employ stone, wood, and concrete, and with these materials, you build houses and palaces. That is construction. Ingenuity is at work. But suddenly you touch my heart, you do me good, I am happy and I say: This is beautiful. That is Architecture. Art enters in'.

Trimit Architects is committed to creating ‘architecture’ that touches the lives of its users in a positive way. The firm is headed by Principal Architect Dr. Priya Choudhary, who stands as a reckoning force in the company’s success, boasting an impressive career studded with notable achievements like
being awarded the Fulbright Nehru Doctoral and Professional Research Fellowship, ICI Award, the MASA Best Teacher Award in 2012, and many more.

Under her leadership, the firm has grown to cater to distinct projects including residential projects, commercial complexes, IT parks, healthcare and hospitality centers, institutional projects, land developments, group housing schemes, master planning, and eco-tourism projects, to name a few. Across these categories, the firm offers comprehensive services including holistic consultancy solutions, project management solutions, redevelopment planning services, green building design consultancy, and customized renovation services, among others. In its pursuit of creating meaningful architectural concepts, the firm also designs contemporary, innovative, artistic, modern, or traditional interior spaces that are also sustainable and sensitive to the surrounding environment. As certified professionals and evaluators under the GRIHA rating system, Trimit is comprehensively involved in green building initiatives.

The main philosophy of the firm is to 'design built environments' that are 'sustainable' & 'humane', prioritizing user preferences over 'architects' ideas' in the design process

The range of projects undertaken by the firm includes small residences to large scale redevelopment or planning projects. It has worked on the ‘comprehensive tourism development master plan for Buddhist circuit in Uttar Pradesh’ for the UP tourism department which was Rs.1800 crore project. Trimit is currently working on redeveloping nine railway stations under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’. The main philosophy of the firm is to ‘design built environments’ that are ‘sustainable’ and humane.

Future Roadmap

From humble beginnings with just three members working in a small one-room office to a budding team of thirteen in a dedicated 1600 sq. ft. office, Trimit’s journey over the past six years has been a story of success and growth. “Having worked for prestigious and large-scale impact making projects such as the ‘Transaction Advisory for the Adaptive reuse of Begumpet Airport’ project, our company has created a strong footing in the industry. Concurrently, working for multiple projects across Nagpur, and surrounding small towns, we are also reshaping cities at the local level”, says Dr. Priya Choudhary, Principal Architect, Trimit Architects.

As the firm charts its roadmap for the future, it is driven by the aim to make meaningful contributions to the evolving built environments in India and channelize the development needs of tier-II and tier-III cities in the right manner.
