Travelling an average of 350 km daily, KMT vehicles are of the
latest model that’s driven by highly trained drivers traversing large distances and assuring personal safety as well as the goods’ security. Operating with one of the most advanced Prima Trucks in the country; the company’s Chassis Carriers are of top notch quality with the oldest one being only four years old. Furthermore, its five-year old car trailers and two-year old flatbed trailers (running 80 lakh km per month) stand as a testament to the KMT’s seriousness for constant upgradation. The maintenance and performance of these vehicles are tracked by the company’s in-house app. Drivers are facilitated with end-to-end training through Drivers training centres at four locations to understand the safety and operational parameters of their vehicles as well as soft skills & defensive driving for a successful transit that has results in 98 percent on time delivery and 99 percent damage free delivery.

For regular vehicle up keep, the company undertakes preventive maintenance. In collaboration with a reputed risk management company, KMT evaluates the vehicles at workshop, and improves upon them to ensure safety, productivity and efficiency. The company’s state-of-the-art maintenance facility at Gidani workshop houses the fleet for a minimum rest period and also serves as in-house vehicle maintenance database centre. Amit further informs, “We own Authorized Workshop of TATA, Mahindra and Ashok Leyland and also have tie-up with Michelin, India where they work on techniques to maximize the tyre
life. Also, we are taking management consultation for kaizen technique for working efficiently”. The new millennium marked the incorporation of KMT vehicles with the GPS and 24 hour monitoring facility, a feat unimaginable for other players back then. Interestingly, it is one of the few transport providers in the country to place RFID Tags in all their tyres for tyre tracking and use Fast Tags (subscription based toll payment platform) when it was first released for the Indian highways.

Moreover, processes like day to day fleet management, tracking, inventory management and many more automated through in-house software like VoIP, HRMS and others. “We are now doing cashless transportation with our drivers where we have provided them with prepaid cards for all their en-route expenses,” adds Amit. Owning a warehouse land of over 550000+ sq. Ft,and having 30+ operating locations covering 18 states, 17 branches and 22 supporting stations, KMT is currently working on incorporating more members into the fleet and diversify its services by introducing tractor and LPG carriers in near future.
