Fresh off a blockbuster IPO, Urban Company is doubling down on instant home services to meet India's growing demand for quick convenience. The company now aims to deliver key home services such as domestic help, cleaning, and repairs within minutes, a major shift from its earlier model of scheduled appointments.

India’s largest home-services platform recently rolled out its ‘Insta Help’ service, enabling users to book a domestic worker in just 15 minutes. This move taps into India’s booming quick commerce trend, where consumers expect everything from food to furniture almost instantly.

Abhiraj Singh Bhal, CEO said, “Instant services will be a game changer for middle class households”. He added “They can strengthen our business and boost customer engagement significantly”.

As of June 30, the platform had over 7 million annual transacting customers, and it's looking to expand that base further by offering quicker solutions to common household needs.

To support this shift, Urban Company plans to make heavy investments over the next 2–3 years to build a deeper network of trained service professionals in its key markets. The company acknowledges that this strategy may impact margins in the short term, but believes it will create long-term value.

Urban Company now competes with new age startups like Pronto and Snabbit, which also promise near instant home help. While the logistics and economics of rapid services are still evolving, analysts believe this could be the next big opportunity in the Indian services market especially during peak demand periods like festivals.

However, experts also warn of operational challenges, particularly in managing workforce availability and cost control. Still, with the online on-demand services market projected to grow at 22.4% CAGR till 2030, Urban Company is positioning itself early in the race.
