Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has introduced a new set of digital offerings designed specifically for India, which entails a sovereign cloud platform and augmented cybersecurity features.

The newly launched Sovereignsecure Cloud is 'built in India, for India' and will be managed entirely by TCS. Powered in Mumbai and Hyderabad data centres, it provides data sovereignty by retaining sensitive data within the country. Compliant with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act of 2023, the cloud provides a secure, AI-driven platform with high emphasis placed on sustainability with the aim of achieving net-zero emissions by 2030.

Aimed at addressing the increased demands of Indian citizens and industries, this cloud infrastructure is already changing lives. Teachers such as Priya, in rural parts of the country, can now easily access educational portals of the government, due to the localized and secure digital space.

For enhancing national-level cybersecurity, TCS also announced its Cyber Defense Suite. The end-to-end security solution identifies threats, streamlines response procedures, and secures applications and networks within hybrid cloud environments.

Supporting these efforts is DigiBOLT, a low-code digital transformation platform that can assist organizations in transforming legacy systems, speeding up AI adoption, and automating workflows. The integration is set to enable faster innovation and support India's digital competitiveness globally.

Girish Ramachandran, President – Growth Markets, TCS, said, "India is at a tipping point where data sovereignty, AI, and digital acceleration are coming together to generate unparalleled opportunities. These capabilities strengthen our promise of creating a secure, AI-driven digital backbone that drives innovation and economic growth".

In a video message, S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT, stressed the need for indigenous infrastructure to ensure data security. "To create a robust ecosystem, data needs to remain in the country, even if driven by private players", he explained.

TCS also announced a plan to roll out more India-centric solutions, with a vision of creating technologies that are "made in India, for India and ready for the world".
