India possesses a tremendous talent pool in the field of software design but lacks stable hardware designs. “We, at EDS India, concentrate on providing robust hardware solutions engineered to withstand diverse environmental conditions while integrating cutting-edge firmware designs. We believe in the philosophy of ‘First Time Right,’ which demands rigorous testing and well-defined processes. As an ISO-certified design house, we ensure that every project adheres to industry-leading practices like DFMEA and 7D resolution, empowering us to deliver reliable hardware and innovative software designs that meet the high standards of our clients”, shares Vijay Kumar, General Manager (Operations), EDS India.
With a dual focus on hardware resilience and software sophistication, EDS India continues to redefine reliability and performance in design engineering across India. Specializing across diverse domains, the company stands out for its specialized services in the areas of complete hardware design, which consists of services like hardware architecture planning, schematic designs, DFMEA, PCB layout, EMI/EMC, and more, along with embedded software, application software, as well as web applications including mobile apps, IoT dashboards, and gateway solutions, to name a few. Beyond this, the company also aids in product certifications from organizations like ARAI, UL, DIMTS, RDSO, and other pertinent authorities.
Targeted Solutions
EDS India stands out for its targeted solutions including its numerous LED driver circuits that are operated from AC/DC as per requirements. Within the scope of this
product, the company introduces several projects every year, with designs catering to home and industry lighting, photography studios, and many more.
Similarly, its flagship product PIDS, has enabled the firm to hold over 60-70 percent of the market share within the Indian Railways IPIS market. Designed with careful and long-drawn field research about requirements and diagnosis of the behavior of systems in practical field conditions, like working with HT lines and understanding what the effects are and ways to mitigate them, this system boasts exceptional stability and reliability.
Another one of the top tracking devices offered by the company is the AIS-140 design which has matured through extensive assessment of the behaviors of field conditions and product demographics. The sophis-ticated design of the product has pushed the firm to forge mutually beneficial associations with giants like JIO, NIPPON, MapMyIndia, Accolade, and more.
In designing and delivering all such solutions, the company leverages its self-developed ERP system that encourages the firm to stay on time, while maintaining the quality of the products along with transparency.
“We have a very good ERP system in which once any new project is initiated, the timeline is available to the customer. They can then directly log into their account and check the project progress with every minute detail on which the engineers are working, and about the completion dates or problems being faced. I do not believe any design house works with transparency as we do and that’s the reason we are gaining more valuable customers every year”, adds Naveen Dagar, Sr. Manager(Designs), EDS India.
A Story of Success
Over the decades, EDS India has overcome a plethora of challenges and continues to face industry-wide hurdles head-on to achieve exceptional results across all projects. As a consequence of this iron-will look past the challenges of materials costs, inadequate R&D capabilities, lack of awareness, and lack of technical capabilities, to name a few, EDS India has made its mark in the industry through continued focus on creating the best.
As a result of this laser-focused approach, the firm has earned numerous accolades and recognitions which stand as a testament to how well the company’s roots are penetrating the industry. Today, about 60-70 percent of the Indian Railway IPIS market is governed by EDS designs. Moreover, 1500+ railway stations and 50+ airport terminals deploy EDS PIS, while nearly 15 percent of AIS-140 approved vendors are leveraging EDS designs. The Indian roads are also benefiting from these solutions as 200K+ tracking solutions have been deployed on them.
Beyond these capabilities, the company also has gained a competitive edge in the intensely crowded market through its patented RGB video-wall solution, and the patented digital SMPS-based power supplies and EV chargers. The impressive recognition of the firm has also enabled it to gain a strong footing in the industry by becoming authorized design partners for the technology sector giants like ST Microelectronics, Microchip Technologies, Telit, Quectel, Sylergy, and more. These successes have been the result of team EDS’ passion for design, and focus on work with fun.
“We enjoy work and have a very open culture. However, I will not deny that there is some work pressure, and we sometimes put in extra hours to meet our deadlines. However, I firmly believe that attractive jewelry can only be produced by using a hammer on gold. We have lots of fun during the work to make it more passionate. We used to have a yearly outing with teams for 4-5 days every year and also, we plan for multiple dinners and outdoor activities to have the team connected with heart”, further adds Govinda, Dy. Manager (Designs), EDS India.
Future Roadmap
Over the past decade, EDS India has not only focused on setting a firm foundation on which the company thrives but proactively sought excellence and growth in its abilities. Keeping on this trajectory, the company has ambitious goals for its future, aimed at ensuring that EDS India stays at the forefront of industry advancements.
“We are investing heavily in IoT and AI, for which numerous new projects are already on paper and under execution. We are working to bring our own AI hardware for smaller applications which currently are based on off the-shelf readily available devices, and this will help us place ourselves as one of the prominent organizations in the field of AI in India. Plans are also in place to bring IPOs for EDS India in the coming years. Mergers and accusations are on the cards for further growth down the lines”, lastly shares Santanu Roy, Managing Director, EDS India. With these well-rounded goals, the company is positioning itself for immense growth in the coming years, becoming an industry leader in no time.
