The Internet Service Providers are responsible for making the Internet as a whole a reality. Stronger government industry cooperation is required to enhance internet connectivity. In order for businesses to interact and conduct business online, connectivity must be reliable, seamless, and secure. Basic connectivity is now a must for all businesses, including small and medium-sized ones (SMBs). Many companies continue to use the traditional Internet Leased Line (ILL) service for their connectivity requirements as they compete to have an online presence. The owner of the business must deal with issues like usage visibility, usage control, security, and application maintenance, among others, because vanilla ILL services stop at connecting. Lack of expertise and resources continues to be a major issue for many SMBs when it comes to meeting their IT and security requirements.

Several global & homegrown industry giants alike have been working towards solving this puzzle. Government's efforts are commendable. Last year, the GoI made available high quality and high speed internet access to the States of North Eastern Region of the country. Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) signed an Agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on 18.08.2021 for hiring of 10 Gbps International Bandwidth for Internet Connectivity to Agartala from Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited(BSCCL), Bangladesh via Cox Bazar/Kuakata. This is just in; ‘Smart Internet' from Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) is a state-of-the-art solution which helps SMBs get robust connectivity, security, manageability, and clear visibility of its users and network. It is an internet leased line bundled with cloud based security and a Do It Yourself (DIY) interface which is easy to access, install, use, and view. It secures customer network from malicious websites, online threats and provides the SMBs with the first line of defense in a cost-effective manner.

This edition brings forth some of the rising stars of the industry who have identified the internet vacuum and have stepped up to settle the account with connectivity drawbacks.
