It is predicted that as India's economy grows, the electricity consumption will reach 15,280 TWh in 2040. This rise in demand will be driven largely by real estate and transport sectors. Renewable energy will account for 55 percent of the total installed power capacity by 2030 (IBEF). No wonder, the non-conventional energy received FDI inflow of $9.56 billion between April 2000 and June 2020. It is also predicted that by 2028, India can witness renewable energy investment worth $500 billion.

It is indeed a good sign for India in the renewable energy sector as the government plans to establish 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, and has ramped up its previous target to achieve 227 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022. This growth translates to a higher need of energy solutions to store, transmit and do more. We all know how vital energy is for a nation's progress. It indeed has a critical impact on economic development and standards of living. And India's progress toward better energy storage will help the nation transmit electricity to every nook and corner of the nation which is the current government's mission.
